When is the Open Enrollment Period?

2018 Open Enrollment begins on Monday, October 23, 2017 and ends on Thursday, November, 9 2017.

What if I do not want to make any changes?

You do not need to do anything! You will automatically get enrolled in the same plan as you are currently enrolled in. Some changes may apply if your Union is offering a different plan in which case you will be defaulted into that plan.  Please review rates for 2018 as they have increased.

How can I change plans, add dependents, opt out of medical?

All benefits changes will be done through Lawson online Employee Self Service (ESS) at https://lawsonportal.sweetwaterschools.org/lawson/portal/index.htm.  You should have received your login name at your site, if you forgot your password, you can click on the “Reset Password” option.  You will be able to get assistance at the District Benefits Office. Paper forms will not be accepted. If you are adding a dependent who is currently not covered on any of your Health plans through the online system or opting out of medical, you must also fax or e-mail proof of other insurance or dependent eligibility such as Birth Certificate, Adoption Documents, Marriage certificate, etc… to the benefits department at:

What if I need assistance with creating my account and/or making my changes online, Can I go somewhere?

Yes, computers are available at the District Benefits Department. Benefits Staff will be available at these kiosks if employees would like help with this process.

Please call the Benefits Department at (619) 585-4420 Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Benefits Department has now moved to the offices located in the main entrance of the District Office.
